Our Story……

Linda’s Education House started humbly in October 2003 in the lovely town of Potong Pasir. It has since grown from a small tuition centre with only 20 students to a successful centre with 120 students and the number of students is still growing. Linda’s Education House also set up a new branch in Ang Mo Kio in the year of 2006.

Our young and lively tutors are passionate about teaching, well qualified and also trained by the centre to educate the students in our unique and effective way. Tuition lessons are all held in small groups so as to ensure students get enough attention from the tutors. Students develop strong bonds with tutors and their classmates.

Apart from coaching students and helping them to achieve excellence in their academic work, the tutors are also very concerned about the character development of the children. Various workshops and events are organised to encourage and facilitate the character building of the students, so that the education they receive from us is a complete one.

We organise educational excursions, character building workshops, team competitions and fun outings for the students, such as the annual year end party sponsored by our centre for all the students of Linda’s Education House. Students get a chance to meet up with their friends and tutors to have fun together after the year-end examinations.

At Linda’s Education House, we teach from our hearts. We hope to not only help students excel in their studies, but also impart important knowledge and wisdom which will benefit them for life.

Essential 3-Step Learning Process for the Students


STEP 1 : Listen and Absorb

Teachers will teach a new concept or impart new knowledge from scratch. No assumption of previous knowledge is made. Every concept and piece of information is explained thoroughly and clearly to ensure students understand all that is taught in the classroom.

 

STEP 2 : Execute Concepts / Put knowledge into Use

Students will put into use what they have learnt. Exercises are given to students for practice and each set of exercise is carefully chosen to allow them to apply what they have learnt. Exercises are progressive; starting from basic questions to moderate then challenging questions. Activities are also carried out in class which will require use of their newly gained knowledge.

 

STEP 3 : Internalize Knowledge

Through a series of creative graphic and visual diagrams, students put their knowledge into a picture which they can remember and recall anytime they need to. It is always easier to remember pictures rather than words and sentences, so students are taught the skills of summarizing, mind-mapping, representing concepts graphically and using mnemonics to help internalize their knowledge.

 

Our Curriculum - Comprehensive and Systematic

While some group tuition classes are haphazard and disorganized, we have a comprehensive and systematic curriculum at Linda’s Education House. The curriculum complements the MOE syllabus and includes other essential elements that have been carefully selected for the benefit of the students. Every lesson is carefully planned and only the best learning materials are selected. The students learn much more in our classroom than they would from their school textbooks.

Our Classes - Small group size (Max. 12 Students/ class)

Our class size is small, with a maximum of 12 students in a class, so that our tutors can give attention to each and every of the students work and coach them better. Students will also feel more comfortable in a small group. Discussions will be frequent and students get to share their knowledge and questions with the rest of the class. They will definitely learn more and enjoy classes more.

Our Tutors - Dedicated, Qualified and Experienced

We have dedicated qualified and experienced tutors who teach from the heart. All tutors are approved and registered with the Ministry of Education (MOE). All tutors will go through training by the school before teaching the students.
